¿QUIÉN TRAE LAS CORNETAS? - RAWAYANA

This album is an invitation to take a journey through the Venezuelan Caribbean. The question “¿Quién trae las cornetas?”—Who’s bringing the speakers? — is the starting point for many trips: with friends, young love, family, locals… The entire visual concept was built around telling stories set in different parts of the coast, and in every story, the speakers are present.

For this project, I collaborated with an incredible team of creatives to bring this vision to life — a journey that ultimately led the album to win a Grammy for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album and a Latin Grammy for best pop song.

The cast was local, and the stories felt authentic to our Venezuelan roots. I wore many hats throughout the process: working alongside The Broccoli Lab, Capitolio, and Rodrigo Michelangeli to conceptualize the visuals, while also leading styling and art direction. I also styled the band for their world tour.

The styling concept was centered around making the band look great without promoting consumerism. We worked with vintage and second-hand pieces, sourced from local and small-scale designers — mostly avoiding fast fashion. It was incredibly rewarding to work within these parameters, as it challenged me to approach fashion in a more intentional and holistic way.

This was a deeply meaningful project for me, and I’m incredibly proud of the work we created and the places it has taken me.
