CARACAS EN EL 2000 - ELENA ROSE FT DANNY OCEAN & JERRY DI

Nominated for Best Pop Song at the 2025 Latin Grammys, this nostalgic track became an anthem for the Venezuelan diaspora. The music video tells the story of the artists' younger selves, performing in a classic high school “Gaitas” dance — a tradition deeply rooted in Venezuelan school life.

We filmed at the actual school Elena Rose attended, adding a deeply personal layer to the story. Many of the people featured — from staff to extras — worked at the school during her time there, and even her grandmother makes a special appearance in the video. That realness, that emotional proximity, gave the entire project a rare kind of intimacy.

We designed a custom school uniform and a performance costume that captured the joyful energy of the era, set against a stage inspired by Venezuela’s iconic kinetic art movement — drawing from the visual language of masters like Carlos Cruz-Diez and Jesús Soto. The entire aesthetic leans into a Y2K vibe, echoing the early 2000s in Caracas, as referenced in the song.

Rather than aiming for a historically accurate recreation, the video evokes a dreamlike, emotional memory of life before the mass migration — a time frozen in the hearts of those who left seeking better futures. With over a third of the country now living abroad, the video stands as a visual anthem to the collective memories that still bind us. Grateful to have brought this dream to life alongside Nicole Crespo and Elaiza Wallis.
